"Piecing" 'Sharing Circles
"Piecing" Sharing Circles for therapists, teachers, nurses and other professional caregivers, to provide an opportunity to & share what's happening in our lives. in our roles, we give on a daily basis often having little opportunity to share our inner feelings, struggles, success and challenges. Modeled after Indigenous Talking Circles and the creativity, harmony, and community found in joining pieces in quilt making.
“Pieces” Sharing Circles are offered each month, virtually and in person.

Joanne Ginter, MA, Registered Psychologist, offers collaborative, trauma informed supervision and consultation for Provisional Psychologists, Canadian Certified Counsellors, and other registered professionals. She has over 14 years of supervisory experience including 9 years with the College of Alberta Psychologists.
Recognizing the secondary and vicarious trauma that occurs for psychologists and other professional caregivers (nurses, teachers, support workers), Joanne developed the “Pieces” Sharing Circles and a Grief & Loss group for clinicians—focused on reflection, ethical practice, and sustainable care.

Joanne has been an approved supervisor with the College of Alberta Psychologists for over 14 years.
In addition, she has provided supervision to
university interns at the graduate level and
provided supervision and consultation to other registered professionals. supervised other professionals.

Grief and Loss
The experience of significant loss and grief of someone in our life, whether it be personal or professional can be difficult for therapists and caregivers to navigate; we often find ourselves holding onto this grief resulting in a buildup of secondary trauma and/or compassion fatigue. It affects our ability to be the best we can with other clients and other relationships; frequently shaking our worldview.
Joanne will be offering monthly grief groups for psychologists and other caregiving professionals.

Mid November (dates and time to be announced). This will be an open group for psychologists, other therapists and professional caregivers to share and support each other in our own grieving process.
Each group is in person for 2 hours; Group fees apply.
